Pray for Hope for Gorton

As we prepare for Hope for Gorton at our church, Trinity Baptist, Gorton and with other Christian friends and supporters, our first priority is prayer.
Hope begins on our knees. As we work and act for justice and peace and as we share the good news of Jesus, we need to pray – before during and after our actions.
Can we pray for you? We’d be happy to do that. Drop us an email and we’ll pray for you. Give us as much or as little information as you want – we don’t want to pry, only to pray.

How to pray for Hope for Gorton
Some prayer pointers from our prayer coordinator, John L.
Our Heavenly Father has entrusted us with the great commission, calling us to go and make disciples of all nations.
We stand in awe of the privilege and responsibility of sharing God’s life-transforming Gospel message with the world.
As we pray………
Let us take time to show our gratitude for God’s goodness to us as a church, our community, family and friends. It is the will of God for us to continually offer our sacrifices of praise.
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. Hebrews 13:15
Let us pray that everything being planned will come into line with God’s will and his divine purpose.
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, my counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure. Isaiah 46:10
Let us pray for the kingdom of God to advance throughout all the programmes and many to be added to the church.
Praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. Acts 2:47
Let us pray for our neighbourhood, people from many nations, diverse backgrounds, all ages that the love of Christ will become real to them through us.
.And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. Romans 5:5
Let us pray for boldness and divine courage to stand firm in our faith and to share the Gospel without fear.
And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Acts 4:29-31
Let us pray for God to have mercy on the Gorton community and that his light will shine in the midst of the darkness.
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 2 Corinthians 4:1-6
Let us pray for healing during the hope for gorton meetings and for our neighbourhood, that families will be restored, those struggling with addictions, trauma, and depression will be set free. Pray that the young people will have a hunger to know and experience the love of Christ.
He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
As we pray for others, we can trust that the Holy Spirit is helping us in our weakness.
The Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. Romans 8:26
